Summer Home Masses

Home / Parish News / Summer Home Masses

We all know that “The Church” is not just the brick and mortar building but rather the people who make a community of Catholics.  One enjoyable way that I have found to recognize and celebrate this is to have home Masses in the neighborhoods of our parish. The summer and early fall months are a great time for this. Family, friends and neighbors can gather at a parishioner’s home for socializing and for Mass.

I would like your help in scheduling a number of these neighborhood Home Masses from June through September on Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m.  When a neighborhood Home Mass is scheduled, this will be our Wednesday night Mass, and Mass will not be held at Pax Christi at 6:30 p.m.  Please watch the bulletin and our website each week for the schedule of Home Masses.

Thank you to Bax McClure who will host a Mass on July 17 and to Ken & Becky Sagan who will host a Mass on July 31.

July 17 Home Mass: 2306 Vince Rd, Nicholasville – (859) 940-0618

July 31 Home Mass: 627 Tateswood Dr., Lexington – (859) 229-3187

What to expect as a Host:

Hosts provide simple hospitality such as lemonade and cookies and a cool shaded backyard.

In case of rain, can you take 15-20 people inside?

Fr. Pat brings everything needed for Mass;

Wine, hosts, cups, Missal, etc.    We would print the host address and phone number in the bulletin so that

people can contact you to get directions and let you know how many people in their family will be attending.

What to expect as a parishioner attending a Home Mass:

Bring your own chairs and/or blanket to sit on

Kids are welcome & encouraged to attend

If possible, but not necessary, please contact the host to let them know how many to expect in your family.

Would you like to be a host? I would particularly like it if we had some new hosts. It would bless your home, and you would be a blessing to all who would attend.  Please call the church office with any questions or to offer to host a Mass.  859-273-9999. Thank you for your interest and attention.   – Fr Pat
