Pax Christi’s FaithWalk program is a religious formation program intended for all parishioners. These programs for children/youth have been designed to be in compliance with the policies of the Diocese of Lexington.
The National Catechetical Directory states that the parents are the first and most important catechists of their children. Parents catechize by example and instruction. The faith community of Pax Christi is committed to assisting parents in this most important duty by providing vounteer catechists and curricula.
Volunteer catechists are a vital part of our program. They work together to share their faith and their love of God with the students and their families. Their ministry is a valuable service to the Church. These catechists are guidede by the Formation Committee of the parish and parish staff.
Curricular used for our program is approved by the Diocese of Lexington. The curriculum presents the central truths of the love of God and others, while building a Catholic Christian community. The curriculum is designed to help parents review the lessons that were presented in class. The faith experience is presented through personal and community activities, personal and liturgical prayer, the celebration of the sacraments, and social actions to help our neighbors. By working together to discuss and reinforce these lessons, parents and teachers build a spiritual community for our children.
Classes meet on Sundays from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. (between the 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Mass) in the Parish Hall. FaithWalk follows the Fayette County School calendar.
