1994-1995

July 1                    “I hereby decree the canonical erection of a new parish in southern Fayette and northern Jessamine counties,

effective July 1, 1994, with Rev. Lawrence W. Hehman its first pastor.”  – Decree by Bishop J. Kendrick Williams

 

July 10                  •First Masses of “The New Lexington Parish” at the Bluegrass Bingo Center in the Clays Mill Shopping Center.

  • An estimated 470 people attend the 9:00 a.m. Mass and 250 attend the 11:00 a.m. Mass.
  • The first collection totaled $3,537. A “Town Hall” meeting was held between masses .

 

July 17                 •We begin our second Sunday as “A Community of 341 Ministers” (110 family units).

  • 5:30 p.m. Mass is held on Saturday evening at the Lexington Ice Center (YMCA) on Eureka Springs Drive.

 

July 24                  •Parishioners begin to make suggestions for a name:  Sacred Heart of Jesus, St. Joseph, Our Lady of Hope,

Holy Savior, Prince of Peace, St. Francis of Assisi, Holy Spirit, Therese, Corpus Christi, St. John the Baptist.                               

Church of the Angels, Pax Christi, Michael the Archangel, The Church of the Lord’s Prayer……

 

July 27                  •The first Wednesday night Mass is held at 6:30 in the McDonalds Office on Main St. in Nicholasville. Mass is

followed by McDonalds hamburgers and fellowship.

 

August                   •Our second month begins with “A Community of 435 Ministers” (160 family units).

  • First big social event held on Aug. 3 with Feast of St. Lawrence cook-out after the regular “Big Mac Mass” at the

McDonalds Office.

  • Voting for the parish name begins on August 20.  First Lector training is held on August 28.
  • First Baptism is held on August 21 at the 9am Mass – Colin Michael Fenelon, son of Michael & Jan Marie Fenelon.
  • Kroger and Winn Dixie Certificates are sold for the first time to benefit the building fund.

 

September            •We begin our third month as “A Community of 545 Ministers”.

  • Religious education begins on September 18. Bi-Monthly sessions for adults begin with the topics “Power &

Powerlessness” and “Ecumenism.” taught by Fr. Larry.

  • First “Eucharistic Minister” training is held on September 25.
  • Final ballot for a parish name is held. First “Bring Your Own Everything” Parish Picnic is held at Shillito Park.
  • Parish name is announced at the picnic.

 

October                 •We begin our fourth month as “Pax Christi Catholic Church”, a “Community of  608 Ministers” (240 family units).

  • Town Hall meeting of October 9 mentions “Farm A and Farm B”, meaning the property on Victoria Way (Farm A)

and Fr. Hehman’s current home and property (Farm B).

  • Our dove logo   appears for the first time in the October 16 bulletin.
  • ”I hereby give approval and order execution of the same, that the new parish…be known as Pax Christi (Peace of

Christ) Catholic Church.”  –Decree by  Bishop J. Kendrick Williams, October 4, 1994.

  • First Holy Day Masses held on October 31 & November 1 for All Saints Day.

 

November            Our fifth month begins with our “Community of 625 Ministers” (248 family units).

  • First Masses at Pax Christi Center (#11 3341 Holwyn Rd.)
  • Wednesday Night Mass and Potluck in the Pax Christi Center begins on All Souls Day, November 2.
  • Tuesday Morning Mass & Book Club begins on November 8. Book Club selection: Plain & Simple by Sue Bender.
  • Town Hall agenda for November 20: “Introduction before Mass…?” and “Holding hands at the Our Father…?”
  • First Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service held at Episcopal Church of the Resurrection on November 23.
  • First Thanksgiving Day Mass held at 10:00 a.m.
  • Giving Tree tradition begins on the first Sunday of Advent, November 27.

 

December             •At the beginning of our sixth month, we are “A Community of 633 Ministers” (253 family units).

  • First Penance Service on December 11.
  • Weekday office hours are established.
  • First Christmas Eve – 5:30 Children’s Mass with Pageant of the Gospel; 7:00 p.m. Adult Christmas Carol Mass.
  • Christmas Day Masses at 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. (Christmas was on a Sunday in 1994)

 

1995

 

January                                •Our happy new year begins with New Years Eve and Day masses.

  • The parishioner count was not recorded in the bulletin in January.
  • Pax Christi participates with six neighboring churches in a congregation exchange. Lansdowne Cumberland

Presbyterian Church members attend Pax Christi.  Six of our members attend Bethsaida Baptist Church.

 

February              •Our eighth month finds us with “485 baptized and confirmed adults who are called to Christ’s Ministry and Peace.”

  • Our first “Mardi Gras” party after a 6:30 pm Mass. The party was a potluck supper.

 

 

March                   •We begin our ninth month and our first Lent with 489 baptized and confirmed adults (247 family units).                                                    •Ash Wednesday Mass is held at 7:30 am, Noon and 6:30 p.m.

  • Our first Stations of the Cross services are held every Friday in Lent.
  • The first Youth Group (Junior and Senior High) meets on March 12.
  • Dinner at Suggins for the benefit of the Building Fund is held on March 19.

 

April                      •Our 10th month began with 502 baptized and confirmed adults (253 family units).

  • Youth Group Cookout is held on April 8th.
  • A “Farm Warming” to equip the “rectory” – Father Hehman’s home/farm is held on April 9th. He was registered

at McAlpin’s Bridal Department.

  • First Holy Week at Pax Christi included our first Seder Meal, which was held after the Holy Thursday Mass.
  • Our first Easter Vigil was held at the small Pax Christi Center. We had no R.C.I.A, so there were no baptisms

or confirmations at the vigil.

  • Easter morning included our first Easter Egg Hunt (in the parking lot of the shopping center!)
  • After four months of reading and discussing A Crisis of Conscience, the Tuesday Morning Book Club

moves on to their next book!  J

 

May                       •In our 11th Month, “we are 265 family units or 522 baptized and confirmed adult ministers…”

  • Our first First Communion was held on May 7th with Sean Ashcraft, Michael DaPrille, Eric Delong,

Nicholas Edel, Nicky Morrison and Laura Tubbesing receiving our Lord in the Eucharist for the first time!

  • Our first Annual Appeal and Census.
  • Kapp Embroidery has its (our) first Shirt/Cap sale. A great tradition begins.
  • Ascension Thursday Mass is still held on Thursday.
  • Bishop J. Kendrick Williams confers the Sacrament of Confirmation on ten of our young people in our parish’s

first Confirmation Mass.  Confirmandi were Laura Buechel, Courtney Byers, Kearny Canter, Clay Carter, Michelle

DaPrile, Philip Holland, Christi Maggard, Carey Maggard, Nathan Sowa, and Aaron Williams.

 

June                       •In our 12th Month, we became a community of “271 family units or 535 baptized and confirmed adults.”

  • Youth Group picnic at Shillito Park on June 25.
  • R.C.I.A. is advertised for our parish for the first time.

 

July                        •Our second year begins with “259 family units or 486 baptized and confirmed adults.”

  • We celebrated our 1st Anniversary with a picnic at Fr. Hehman’s/Pax Christi’s Farm on Viley Rd.

July                        •We begin our third year with 329 family units

  • The Capital Campaign has received $301,600 so far.
  • We celebrated our 3rd birthday (and the beginning of our 4th year) with a Mass and Parish Picnic on the grounds of our future church building.
  • We begin using McAlpins Merchandise Cards to benefit the building fund.
  • The Prayer Chain ministry begins
  • The Lexington Chorale begins singing at Pax Christi.

 

August                   •We are a parish of 330 families.

  • The Capital Campaign has received $311,000, Kroger/Winn Dixie certificates generate $19,168 to date.
  • Diocesan Publications begins printing the bulletin.
  • The Book Club begins reading “The Song of the Bird” by Anthony de Mello
  • 2nd Annual Hehman/Schuler Golf outing is held.
  • Confirmation: Sarah Curry
  • Baptisms: Anissa Murphy Baradaran and Aryana Marie Baradaran.

 

September            •We are a parish of 340 families.

  • Captial Campaign: $337,900 paid…Kroger/Winn Dixie certificates generate $20,114 to date.
  • We hold a Ministry Sign Up Weekend.
  • There is a call in the bulletin for Nursery Volunteers.
  • The “new” Cliffview is nearing completion and holds a “Come and See” Sunday.
  • Baptism: Jonathan Edward Marra

 

October                 •We are a parish of 345 families.

  • The Capital Campaign has 351,000…Kroger/Winn Dixie generates 21,068 to date.
  • We begin the Book of the Dead tradition at All Souls Day.
  • The Book Club begins reading “A Little Course in Dreams” by Robert Bosnak
  • There is an autumn outing to the Basilica of the Assumption in Covington.
  • The “congregation count” for the first three weekends in October averages: 5pm – 176…9am – 195…11am – 260.

An average of 631 people attend Pax Christi each weekend.  We have 450 chairs in the “hardware store.”

  • A Building Fund Bazaar is sponsored by the SeniorYouth. $2,152 is generated.
  • The Capital Campaign has 369,750 paid so far…Kroger/Winn Dixie generates $21,344 to date.
  • The Book Club begins reading “Grace Happens” by Bob Libby
  • We hold a “CCD Pizza Party with Advent Activities” in which families make Advent Wreaths.
  • The Ecumenical Thanksgiving is held at Gethsemane Lutheran Church.
  • We have The Giving Tree to benefit Monticello’s “Mountain Moms”.
  • Baptisms: Maridith Rose Hebenstreit and Meredith Lehn Nichols.

 

 

December             •We are a parish of 354 families

  • The Capital Campaign has brought in $390,950..Kroger/Winn Dixie certificates generate 13,355 to date.
  • First Reconciliation: Anissa Baradaron, Matt Bowcamp, Bailey Dillender, Andrew Edel, Elizabeth Harr, Anastasia Kruse, Jonathan Martin, Kirk Moats, Ravi Shukla, Sara Tubbesing.
  • Fr. Hehman hosts a Christmas Open House at his home on Viley Road.

 

 

1998

 

January                                •We are a parish of 358 families

  • The Capital Campaign has received $424,150 and Kroger/Winn Dixie Certificates to date have made $22,703.
  • An article in the Herald-Leaders states that “in 1995 an average annual contribution to any given church was $498.20.” Pax Christi, however, had an average annual contribution of $661.32 in the past year.
  • Baptism: Matthew Vincent Severance

 

February              •We are a parish of 360 families.

  • The Capital Campaign has made $466,250… Kroger/Winn Dixie certificates have generated $23,320…McAlpins certificates have generated 1765.50 for the building fund.
  • We hold a “Fat Saturday” spaghetti dinner.
  • Visiting ministers for a weekend of masses in the spirit of Christian Unity include Rev. Nancy Copeland from Maxwell Presbyterian, Rev. Robert Sessum from Good Shepherd Episcopal.
  • We begin Lenten small group scripture sharing on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays, using the Disciples in Mission program.

 

March                   •We are a parish of 361 families.

  • The Capital Campaign has $492,250…Kroger/Winn Dixie certificates=$23,851…McAlpins certificates=$1,881
  • The Annual St. Patrick’s Day Dinner is held at Pax Christi.
  • The “We are saints and sinners” statement appears in the bulletin for the first time.
  • Medjugorje visionary Ivan Dragicevic visits Pax Christi. The church is packed with people for Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, the full 15 decade rosary, the Blessed Mother’s daily visit to Ivan, Mass and a talk by Ivan.
  • The Building Committee forms: Paul Kissel, Thomas Malone, Marty Reinert, Frank Sullivan, Barbara Taylor,

Jim Taylor, Ray Turenne, Julie Turok, Fred Vester and John Wagner. The first meeting is held this month.

  • A “Green Food Drive” for God’s Pantry is sponsored by the 7th and 8th grade classes.

 

April                      •We are a parish of 364 families.

  • The Capital Campaign = 515,550…Kroger/Winn Dixie certificates = $24,688 …McAlpins certificates = 2,068
  • An “oremus board” is placed at the back of the church. Prayers and photos with prayer requests are posted.
  • The SeniorYouth holds a “Day at Keenland” outing.
  • The Book Club views and discusses the PBS video “Jesus the Christ.”

 

 

May                       •We are a parish of 371 families.

  • The Capital Campaign = $532,100…Kroger/Winn Dixie certificates = $25,134…McAlpins certificates = $2,161
  • Baptism: Lauren Elise Heister.
  • Parish Council elections are held and Mathilda Cashman, George Saretsky and George Ewan join the council.
  • First Communion: Edward Grubb, Bradley Skluzacek, Matt Bowcamp, Bailey Dillender, Andrew Edel, Elizabeth Harr, Anastasia Kruse, Jonathan Martin, Kirk Moats, Ravi Shukla and Sara Tubbesing.
  • Bishop Williams confirms Benjamin Burke, Anna Fields, Brent Hutchinson, Timothy Jenks, Robert Kapp, Anne Papania, Brendan Sword, Ashley Tipton, Jeffrey Turok and Katherine Zoll.
  • The Diocese of Lexington celebrates its 10th Anniversary with a diocesan-wide mass at Rupp Arena. Sunday masses at Pax Christi are cancelled so that everyone will attend the mass at the arena.

 

 

June                       •We are a parish of 385 families.

  • The Capital Campaign has received $553,098…Kroger/Winn Dixie certificates generate 25,775 to date…McAlpins

certificates generate $2,301 to date.

  • A Family Sharing Program is offered for Wednesday afternoons in the summer using the Seasons of Faith Home Resource books.
  • A lectionary based adult discussion group is offered on Sundays during the summer.
  • Fr. Hehman goes on a trip to Germany.

 

July                        •We end our 3nd Year with 384 families.

*A Children/Youth Bulletin Page is begun.

The Tuesday Morning Book Club discusses a one hour TV program on the life of Joseph Cardinal Bernardin.

*Our parish tries the diocesan-wide Disciples in Mission small group faith sharing program.

 

August                   *We are a parish of 377 family units

*The SeniorYouth group has a Baked Goods and Bazaar Sale which raises $563.44 for the building fund.

*The Tuesday Morning Book Club begins reading Tuesdays With Morrie  by Mitch Albom.

*A Letter from Bishop Williams states that we exceeded our Annual Appeal goal ($18,198) with $23,135 pledged.                                 *Baptisms:  Luke Thomas Johnson; Benjamin Joseph Lee; Eric Joseph Kline; Justin Charles Kline.

*A bible study is held using the DeSales video and discussion series The Story of the Old Testament Covenant.

 

September            *We are a parish of 385 family units.

*Missionary Sunday brings a priest from the Heralds of Good News Missionary Society to speak to us.

*The 3rd Annual Hehman-Schuler Open Golf Outing is held.

*Father MacDonald teaches a class entitled “The Church: Nature, Purpose and History” on Thursday nights.

*Catechist Classes are held on the topic of “Liturgy and Sacraments” one Saturday each month.

*The Building Committee places in the bulletin a “needs and wants” survey regarding our new building.

October                 *We are a parish of 613 “Adult Ministers”.

                                *October 3 &4 is “Invite a Friend to Church Sunday” with receptions following each mass.

                                *We begin quarterly receptions for new parishioners.

                                *The SeniorYouth plan outings to the Quest Farm in Georgetown and to Keenland.

*Photos are taken for a pictorial directory.

*Day-old donuts are regularly picked up and delivered to the Hope Center.

*The Formation Committee reports that 47% of our families participate in Sunday School. (52% are age 0-18)

                                *The Youth Group has an excursion to Entertainment Xpress.

*We receive an anonymous donation of $2,000 to begin a fund to buy a baby grand piano.

*We enjoy a parish dinner of “Chicken Barbeque Western Kentucky Style,” a “Halloween Pizza Party”

*The annual congregation count the first three weekends of October reports that we averaged 719 people per mass.

               

November            *We are a parish of 391 family units or 625 baptized, confirmed adult ministers.

*Dr. Margaret Ralph presents a talk on “Becoming An Initiating Community” to our parish.

*Women’s Retreat is held at Nazareth and is led by Sr. Christen Shukwit.

*We have a “Decorate the Church for Advent” pizza party.

*The Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service is held at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection.

*The Youth Group holds an Autumn Nature Excursion at Raven Run.

*Deacon Dennis O’Neil and his wife Vilma O’Neil join the parish and begin ministering the first Sunday of Advent.

 

December             *We are a parish of 396 family units or 684 baptized, confirmed adult ministers.

*The Sunday School classes celebrate the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception by reciting the rosary.

*We end the year with $981,660 pledged to the building fund and $638,836 paid to the fund.

*The Kroger/Winn Dixie Certificates have generated $29,018 to date.

*Baptism: Joshua Cole Stava

*The Senior Youth Raffle Bazaar brings in $1,605.25 to the building fund, ($4,735.13 for the year)

*The Senior Youth enjoy a Tea at Waveland.

1999

 

January                                *We are a parish of 398 family units or 688 baptized, confirmed adult ministers.

*Baptism: Benjamin Robert McCarty.

*The  catechists attend “Prayer and Spirituality” classes.

*We hold a chili dinner (but it’s not the chili cook-off)

*The Youth Group service project is a visit to Taylor Manor Nursing Home.

 

February              *We are a parish of 400 family units and 718 baptized, confirmed adult ministers.

*Family Event: a trip to the Thoroughblades game.

*We have a lovely time at a Valentine’s Day Coffee House on February 14th.

*The Lenten Bible Study focuses on the Book of Exodus with the video/discussion series “Come Journey with Me.”

*There is a call in the bulletin for teachers to lead a Sunday School class for special needs children.

*The Tuesday Morning Book Club begins Anam Cara: A Book of Celtic Wisdom.

*February 14 is Scout Sunday. 36 scouts and leaders are recognized in our bulletin.

*Liturgical Ministers are honored with a party on Fat Tuesday.

*The Youth have a Midnight Bowling Extravaganza.

 

March                   *We are a parish of 405 family units or 727 baptized, confirmed, adult ministers.

*The Family Activity of the month is a skating party at Southern Hills United Methodist Church.

*Some of our men attend the Catholic Men’s Conference in Cincinnati.

*We hold Reconciliation services for all Sunday School classes.

*Fr. Larry begins writing “Larry’s Licks”, a “ ‘non-weekly’ paragraph or something in our bulletin.”  In the first

Larry’s Licks, Father thanks everyone for his 60th Birthday gifts.

 

April                      *We are a parish of 406 family units and 748 baptized, confirmed adult ministers.

*Coming into full communion with the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil are Lance DeLong, Charlene Wilson and

Patrick Sinclair (who is also baptized).

*Debbie Lynne Egan is baptized, confirmed and receives first holy communion on April 17.

*The Women’s Retreat is held at Nazareth.

 

May                       *We are a parish of 410 family units or 750 baptized, confirmed adult ministers.

*Bishop Williams confirms some of our youth:  Corey Canter, Ryan Cooney, Eric Enderle, Missy Kapp, Rachel                                                   Lindle, David Orlando, Rob Scott, Erica Smith, Rick Tubbesing and Justin Tipton.

*Baptism: Adam Michael Rogers.

*Some of our men meet to discuss formation and direction of a men’s group.

*Adult Formation Talk and Dinner series begins on Sunday nights. Judy Schueneman is the first speaker with the

topic: “The Domestic Church: The Liturgy of Everyday Life.”

*A Thursday Evening Book Club held at the home of parishioners is started. The first book: Tuesdays With Morrie

                                *First Holy Communion: Mitchell Clark, Hunter Omohundro, Carey Parsons, Sara Skluzacek, Kyle Vasilko.

*The SeniorYouth hold a plant sale.

*Baptisms: Daniel Clark Medina, Austin Wayne Stephens

*A Women’s Faith Sharing group, led by Sister Christen Shukwit, is established.

 

June                       *We are a parish of 416 family units or 772 baptized, confirmed adult ministers.

*We approach our anniversary with $1,001,628.00 pledged ($791,347.38 paid) to the building fund.

*We approach our anniversary with $31,283 in Kroger/Winn Dixie sales to date.

*The SeniorYouth takes a bus trip to Caesar’s Casino.

*The hard workin’ SeniorYouth generate more money for the building fund with a Bake Sale.

*We once again exceed our Annual Appeal goal ($22,000) with $26,356 in pledges.

*The Thursday Night Dinner and Book group discuss The Divine Secrets of the YaYa Sisterhood by Rebecca Wells.

 

July                        *We are a parish of 418 family units or 773 baptized, confirmed, adult ministers.

*We hold Vacation Bible School with Providence Christian Church.

*A “Golf in the Kingdom” Retreat, held at Cliffview, is led by Fr. Larry.

*The Youth provide children’s activities at our parish picnic.

*Vacation Bible School is held at Providence Christian Church. The theme is The Great Bible Land Dig.                                                          *A “Golf in the Kingdom” retreat is held at Cliffview and is led by Fr. Hehman.

*We hold our Annual Parish Picnic on July 10th – our anniversary. The Youth Group provides children’s activities.

*The Adult Education Subcommittee is formed.

*Baptisms: Noah Mitchell Joseph Galvin and Nyann Moser (who also receives Confirmation and First Communion)

*Monthly Dinner and Talk features Fr. McDonald on the Ecumenical Councils.

*The Building Fund has received $806, 784.59 in paid contributions.

 

August                   *We are a parish of 417 family units or 780 “adult ministers witnessing to the Good News.”

*We  hold a Single/Divorced/Widowed bonfire and cookout.

  • August 13 we hold our “Groundbreaking Mass” at the property of our new church building.

  • The Tuesday Morning Bookclub begins reading “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho.
  • Parishioners volunteer at Christ the King’s Oktoberfest.  Our building fund receives a percentage of the proceeds.                                               •The Men’s Club meets to “form and find direction for our group.”
  • Pax Christi hosts a 7 week Diocesan course on the Bishops’ Pastoral Letter on Youth Ministry.
  • We begin selling Meijer gift certificates.

  • We enjoy a “Football and BBQ Chicken Dinner.” – UK Football, of course.

  • Father Larry leads a discussion of the controversial Vatican document “Dominus Jesus.”
  • The Family Fun group holds a Halloween Party with pumpkin carving, hayride, piñata and potluck.
  • Catholic Parishes participate in building a house for Habitat for Humanity.

  • Volunteers put together 1,600 boxes for God’s Pantry Thanksgiving Basket Drive.
  • We have a “Healing Service” with Mass and Anointing of the Sick.
  • Fr. Schuler leads a class: “Further Along the Enneagram Road.”
  • The Fall Women’s Retreat at Cliffview focuses on various forms of prayer.
  • The Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service is held once again.
  • The SeniorYouth hold their Bake Sale and Raffle.
  • We enjoy a parish potluck dinner.
  • We thank God together at a Thanksgiving Mass and collect donations for God’s Pantry and the Hope Center.

  • The Family Fun group has Breakfast with Santa and sells the first ever Pax Christi Cookbook.

  • In the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity we host Dr. C.K. Henry from the Christian Methodist Episcopal church  and Dr. Ed Mesta from the Presbyterian Church USA.
  • An announcement addresses seniors (50+) who might be “interested in forming a group for fun and fellowship…”
  • Sunday Morning Bible Study begins. We use 2 books by Fr. Raymond Brown as a study guide.
  • We enoy a Chili Cookoff. Brad Roution is the Grand Champion, Neal Simon takes 2nd Place, April and Megan Nido come in 3rd place and Daniel Wahl is named “Best Eater.”
  • The Youth Group goes bowling at Strike Zone Lanes in Nicholasville.

  • The Senior High Youth and the Middle School Youth go on a ski trip to Paoli Peaks.
  • 100 Adults and 35 children “passed a good time” at the MardiGras Party and Dinner.
  • The RCIA and Confirmation classes enjoy a Fat Tuesday Party on the day before Ash Wednesday.
  • Parishoners Fran Moore, CDP and Liz Wendelen, SCN are honored on “World Day for Consecrated Life.”
  • Dr. Margie Ralph gives us an “Overview of Christian Initiation and The Scrutinies” at adult education class.
  • Baptisms: Grace Elizabeth Heister and Ben Alexander.

  • There is a Senior High retreat a Nazareth.
  • The 6th and 7th grades hold a one day Lenten retreat.
  • The Confirmation class holds an overnight retreat and the First Communion Class has a one day retreat.
  • Benedictus Bookstore holds a Holy Articles Sale after all of the weekend Masses.
  • John Crance and Peter Wdowiarz entertain us at our St. Patrick’s Day party at the Campbell House.
  • The Family Fun group has an Old Fashioned Family Roller Skating Night at Southern Hills UM Church.
  • Baptims: Jackson Cade Hargis and Victoria L. Scott.

 

April                      •463 families. 900 baptized, confirmed adults.

  • Parishioners are invited to bring flowers from seeds given out at the groundbreaking.
  • We participate in a Mass of Reconciliation at the Cathedral.
  • The SeniorYouth holds its annual Flower Sale.
  • We welcome new members with a Newcomers Reception.
  • The Youth Group go horseback riding at Sunburst Farm.

  • Several parishioners join Fr. Larry on a trip to Ireland.

  • Rev. Frances Uhrich, hospice chaplain is guest speaker at the SeniorYouth meeting.

  • We achieve our goal of $28,057 for the Diocesan Annual Appeal.
  • Parents and Students meet to discuss attending the National Catholic Youth Conference.
  • The Men’s Group treats us to a Pancake Breakfast.
  • We enjoy an outing to the Lexington Legends baseball game.
  • We partner, once again, with Providence Christian Church for Vacation Bible School: “Beach Trek,”
  • Baptisms: Courtney Maria Rogers and Jacob Alexander Meyer.

 

July                        •We end our 7th Year with 466 families and 907 baptized, confirmed adults.
