As you know, we are promoting overnight Eucharistic Adoration as part of our parish Day of Prayer for Peace. This time of Adoration will be from after Saturday Mass on January 11 until just before 8:30 Mass on the 12th. Next week we will have a sign-up poster in the lobby. We invite people to commit to praying for Peace by committing to a particular time period during the night. We will need to have at least two people in church at all times. Of course, we encourage individuals to sign up for a time, but we also are encouraging the various parish groups, committees and clubs to choose a time to be together in prayer.
At your group’s next meeting or gathering, please decide amongst yourselves to commit to a particular time. Your group could share a brief period of spoken prayer but most of the time would involve simply being together in quiet reflection.
Adoration can truly be an action of the whole parish. By having our various groups coming, even though at different times, we can truly witness to our parish’s commitment to praying for Peace; the peace that only our God can give.
