Pentecost is May 27 and 28. It is the feast of that day when the Holy Spirit came down in power on the Church. Red is the liturgical color for the Holy Spirit because of the tongues of fire that appeared over those gathered in the upper room.
We encourage everyone to wear red to Mass that weekend. It will be an image of the Holy Spirit in our midst, and it will empower us to live in the Spirit. Remind your family and friends to wear red.
