Return of Summer Neighborhood Home Masses

We all know that “The Church” is not just the brick and mortar
building but rather the people who make a community of Catholics.
One enjoyable way that I have found to recognize and celebrate this
is to have Masses in the neighborhoods of our parish. The summer
and early fall months are a great time for this. Family, friends and
neighbors can gather at a parishioner’s home for socializing and for
Mass.
I would like your help in scheduling a number of these
neighborhood Home Masses from June through September. I would
like to have at least one Mass in each of the general regions of the
parish. Below are listed some of the regions as well as what would
be expected of the host family.
Wednesday evenings at 7pm
Various regions of the parish – But anybody can come to any Mass
West of Nicholasville Rd & north of Man o War
West of Nicholasville Rd & south of Man o War neighborhoods
East of Nicholasville Rd & north of Man o War
East of Nicholasville Rd & south of Man o War
Cumberland Hills
Jessamine Co.
Hosts
Simple hospitality – lemonade and cookies
Cool, shaded backyard
People bring chairs and blankets.
Kids welcomed and encouraged
In case of rain, can you take 15 to 20 people inside?
Fr Pat brings everything needed for Mass; wine, hosts, cups, missal, etc.
We would ask those wanting to attend to contact the office for your address and phone number and to
let us know how many to expect.
Would you like to be a host? It would bless your home. And you would be a blessing to all who would attend!
Please call the church office with any questions or to offer to host a Mass. We will print the name of the families
hosting in upcoming bulletins. If you plan to attend a family hosted summer Mass, please call the office for the
address. 859-273-9999.
Thank you for your interest and attention.

Picnic Mass on JUNE 5 at 11:00

We are going to try to have a “Picnic Mass” on the lawn in front of church.
Bring a blanket or chairs for your family. For our older parishioners who
do not want to sit on the ground or are unable to carry chairs, we will
have chairs available for you. We want all to feel welcome!
BYOP (Bring Your Own Picnic)
Bring a picnic lunch for after Mass so we can continue to celebrate our
fellowship. If you would like to bring frisbees, or corn hole, or other
outdoor games to share, feel free!
So pray for good weather! (If it rains, Mass will be inside as usual)

Outdoor Mass

Outdoor Mass on JUNE 5 at 11:00
Bring lawn chairs or a blanket for
your family and let’s celebrate Mass
in nature! If it rains, Mass will be
in the Sanctuary.

The Pilgrim’s Trail

The Trinity is an example of community, of relationship. The Father does not lord it
over the Son. The son does not say the Holy Spirit is unimportant. They work in a
circular relationship: not pyramidical, or small top down to broad base. As we believe
in the Trinitarian God, we also believe He is saying relationships are worthy. How are
you moving into relationship with those you encounter? Let’s expand relationships by
journeying on the Pilgrims Trail.
What is the Pilgrim’s Trail?
It is an invitation. An invitation to venture into other parts of our beautiful state.
To see churches, small and large, that we have never seen before.
To meet people who are making the Church a living presence in our diocese.
A group of creative people have put together an itinerary to help people plan trips
throughout the diocese. The group offers:
 A simple “passport” form; get one from your own parish.
 Stamps that you can collect in your passport for each parish you visit; call ahead to let them know you
would like to visit.
 People in each parish who can welcome you or your group and give a tour
 A website to help you plan your trip, with directions, contact information and suggestions for each site.
How can you help?
 Become a tour guide for Pax Christi
 Offer to help organize a trip to a parish or group of parishes you might already know.
It is a blessing when we feel more connected to and engaged with our diocese. This is a personal, feet on the
ground, fun and engaging way to do this. We hope you will join the spirit of this. We hope you will join
the Pilgrim’s Trail. Please call the office for more information: 859-273-9999.

Aid to Ukraine

We did not immediately take up a collection at the beginning of the conflict. However, the need will be great for a long time. As always, the contributions we offer will be channeled to the Catholic charities organization in the
Ukraine. By the very nature and structure of the Church, these Catholic agencies are uniquely organized to quickly bring relief to areas most in need.

We will take up a special collection on the weekend of May 14-15.

There is also the opportunity to donate household Items on a local basis through Kentucky Refugee Ministries.

Thank you for your generous response,
