Deacon John was ordained permanent deacon on June 2, 2012 and comes to us from his previous ministry within the Diocese as Director of Youth & Young Adult Ministry which he has held since September 2014. He has served as Deacon at the Cathedral of Christ the King and St. Mark’s in Richmond.
Deacon John has organized and supported the parish leaders of Youth & Young Adult ministry to provide a vast number of programs. Our Diocesan youth and young adults have benefited from his leadership in Edge/Life Teen Youth Ministry, assignment at Lexington Catholic High School, March for Life, Hands of Mary Vocations Committee at Christ the King, National Catholic Youth Conference, Totus Tuus, Catholic Leadership Institute, and Theology on Tap. Prior to his position with the Diocese his background was in Human Resources and Operations as well as Retail Management and Buying. Originally from Maysville, Kentucky, he and his wife Mary have made Lexington their home since 1990.
His official day to begin at Pax Christi will be July 1st as there are several events he needs to yet oversee for the Diocese. He will however, be making time during June to meet with Melissa in order to familiarize himself with our parish.
