Stations of the Cross — Fridays during Lent at 5:30 PM
Fridays during Lent are obligatory days of abstinence (abstaining from meat)
Fast & Abstinence: Ash Wednesday & Good Friday are obligatory days of fasting & abstinence for Catholics. For members of the Roman Catholic Church, the norms on fasting are obligatory from age 18—59 years. Visit usccb.org and “search” fasting and abstinence for detailed information, clarification on questions you may have, and a reflection on Lenten Fasting.
The Church is open from 9-2 daily and Stations of the Cross Booklets will be on the counter as a gift to anyone wishing to come throughout Lent to walk the stations in private devotion (you should keep the booklet to use at home and to bring back with you each time you come for stations of the Cross at church)—please do not place them back on the counter). Please observe the current protocols: masks must be worn while in the church and if others outside your immediate family are in the church the 6’ safe distancing must be observed.
Refer to the usccb.org website, . Thoughtful artwork depicts scenes in our modern world and compliments each of the stations. The illustrations were created by young artists as part of the Catholic Campaign for Human Development Multimedia Youth Contest. Each station has the scripture reflection followed by a group reflection and questions.
From your home: “Walk” the stations as a family, or with a group of friends or family via Zoom.
Both options offer a meaningful way to prepare and reflect during this season of Lent.
